Spring is in the air and the posts are a coming!

Oh, dear

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Well, my word. I had better get my act together and write a blog post.

That’s something like what I thought to myself when I realized how long it had been since I last posted. I suppose I’m still adjusting to life as a SAHM vs a WAHM. That is truly a funny sentence.

Overall, there’s a bit of withdrawal.

And a bit of wandering around searching for my brain. It’s not really sure what to do now that it isn’t on overload all of the time. I’m thinking about reteaching myself Algebra and then Calculus. And then maybe French and Mandarin.

Ni hao! J’adore les kong long!  (Translation of Frendarin = Hi! I love dinosaurs!) This is what happens when your preschooler watches  Ni Hao, Kai Lan on a frequent basis.

Anyways, I just wanted to say Hi!/Ni hao!/Bonjour! And state:

It’s okay when your brain takes a hiatus. It happens now and again and perhaps when transitioning from one way of life to another, it’s best. Besides, I’ve had a lot of fun with my preschooler and obviously, she’s teaching me a lot.

Two Days Left in the Old Year

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Hope you had a very Merry Christmas!

Stay tuned for the last two installments of the Wonderland Tea series coming later this week.

Alice’s Lemon Honey Chamomile Tea

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

“Like a tea tray in the sky..”

I thought two posts in one day would be appropriate, since I got a little behind.  I really do like chamomile tea. I love the taste and the fragrance. Lemon and honey are of course a good natural weapon when combating a cold. The rest of my family has one. So, I thought I’d drink this too, for good measure.  It was indeed enjoyable for the most part, but did have a bitter aftertaste. The lemon was the dominate flavor. However, I added 1/2 tsp of honey and about the same amount of white sugar. That seemed to help a bit.  If you’ve got a cold, this is a nice choice and it’s sure to warm up your vocal chords. You’ll be singing, “twinkle twinkle little bat,” in no time.

(Love that door mouse.)

Alice’s Jasmine Tea

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

My apologies for taking so long to get on to the next post on Disney’s Wonderland Tea. The Jasmine tea tastes rather like a flower. I’m sure this does not come as a surprise to those of you who have had jasmine teas before. I hadn’t. So this was new and I really did learn a lot of things from the flowers – Like I’d rather smell Jasmine tea than drink it. Oh, it really wasn’t bad, and got progressively better the further I drank.

I’d drink it again, but so far the Mint holds place number 1, for me.

Alice’s Papaya and Passion Fruit Tea

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

I think I’m working on a mini series of Alice’s tea…which is technically Disney Wonderland Tea. Of course, it probably all belongs to the Red Queen.

"yet you insistently stand on your head, do you think at your age it is right?"

Say, “How do you do and shake hands, shake hands! How do you do and shake hands!”

It didn’t have much flavor. Curious thing. Well, not too strong on the passion fruit, that is, which left me a little passionless about spending my unbirthday sipping away at tea that tastes like tea.

Moving on to the next flavor. “That’s Logic!”

Update!

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Teacups and Toasters is going through some serious changes and will be up on a regular schedule soon. I’ll have it going by the end of the month. Either that or my rss zebra will be quite upset and hungry.

Happy Two Days After Easter!

Is There Really a Final Frontier?

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I had to watch this video clip SEVERAL times. “Surely, this is a hoax,” I said. I watched it again. This kind of thing makes my skin all crawly and my heart all pumpy and my mind is reeling with pure excitement.

Check it.

The thing that will sit on your head and take over your brain

Squids are terrifyingly beautiful.
